Still stateside! Today we're in Charleston, South Carolina awaiting a flight to Ramstein, Germany. Rode in reverse in the tail of a big ol' C-5 courtesy of Travis AFB California yesterday. Spent a few hours in the AMC passenger terminal at Travis, but were two of only 8 or so folks seated in 73 seats, so milking the government, er, taking advantage of our military benefits, has proved relatively painless thus far. Transportation cost to date: $3.55 each, which included a large lunch box served courtesy of a master sergeant.

Next stop: the Rhein region for a little of the local wein, bier and sauerbrauten following much-needed jet-lag recovery.
